Webb's original paintings
One of a kind creations produced by the artist with acrylic paints on 100% rag paper. Webb's paintings, with Impressionistic influence, are produced with bright, rhythmic colors. These paintings are considered contemporary realism with an abstract flair. Regardless of genre, her signature bold, colorful strokes which seem to dance beyond the borders are evident in all of these pieces.
Webb's abstract paintings
Original paintings wherein the content depends on internal forms, design and composition rather than a pictorial representation. Webb's abstract paintings are exciting and colorful, containing the same sense of rhythm and movement present in Webb's representational pieces.
Webb's abstract pastels
These vibrant, colorful works are nonrepresentational in design created with a crayon type stick, when using oil pastels, or chalk type stick, when using soft pastels. They contain the presence and balance of spectral and chromatic color, in typical Webb's signature strokes.
Webb's silk-screen prints
Hand pulled silk-screens also known as serigraphy is basically a stencil process. A design is made in stencil form on a screen mesh by blocking out parts of the mesh. The remaining open areas allow the ink to be pushed through the screen onto the paper. Different screens must be used for each color. Webb provides a visual demonstration of the process on her website.
While silk-screen prints are now commonly created with the use of photography and modern technology, Webb maintains the tradition of silk-screen printmaking in it's purest form. She has produced several handmade original prints of which she has hand-pulled a very limited edition of 25-45.
Webb's mono-prints
prints created with handmade waxed paper. They are one of a kind works created on a plate and printed on a press. The plate contains images built by placement of colored and/or textured papers. In the initial preparation paraffin is melted onto the papers. Oil based inks are rolled onto the paper and the design is then built directly on the plate and printed. The giclee' print is a multi color digital print process that rivals the detail and continuous-tone found in traditional handmade prints. The process starts with a digital reproduction of the original artwork. Artists may hand paint on, or embellish each print adding an original element to the work. With the ability to reproduce a much wider gamut of colors, this process is a step beyond the limitations of 4-color offset lithography. The three Webb works available in giclee' are Walking North, Basket Dancers and Equestrian Princess.
mixed media
The combining of two or more art mediums together in one piece. Webb works with acrylic paints, with pen and ink, and paint and pastel combinations, collage, prints with oil pastels and various other art combinations.
offset lithography
A process in which an image is transferred to a printing plate using a photo-mechanical process. The image is then transferred to rollers and finally printed on paper. Not to be confused with original printmaking, both, offset lithography and giclee printing are commercial printing processes.
All of Webb's offset lithographs have an edition of 750. They are titled: Discussing the Sermon and the Preacher, Dance Trilogy, Kickin' Live, and Piano Man.
