are considered original works of art. The image is conceptualized by the artist and individually hand printed in what are called Multiples. It is paramount to note that this labor-intensive process is implemented totally by hand. Hand-made prints such as silkscreens and monoprints are not to be confused with "machine-made" prints such as 4-color offset lithographs or giclee (digital prints) whereby the image is transferred and printed mechanically or via computer. see charlotte's terms and definitions |
